Expert, Compassionate Therapy for the Perinatal Journey

The perinatal period is often filled with both joy and vulnerability. For many women and their loved ones, this chapter brings profound emotional shifts, identity changes, and moments of deep overwhelm.

This season is tender and transformative—and it deserves specialized care.

Who I Work With

I provide therapy for:

  • Pregnant and postpartum individuals

  • NICU parents and trauma survivors

  • Those experiencing pregnancy or infant loss

  • Individuals with perinatal OCD, anxiety, or depression

  • Parents seeking stronger bonds with their children

  • Women and families adjusting to major life transitions

Sessions are available in-person in California and via secure telehealth across the state.

What Sets Me Apart:

I bring both clinical expertise and personal understanding to this work.

The risk for a Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder (PMADS) is greater if women experience pregnancy complications, traumatic delivery, premature birth, history of infertility, miscarriage or other pregnancy losses.

I’m a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience and advanced training in:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) for early trauma intervention

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – the gold standard for perinatal OCD

  • Circle of Security Parenting – an attachment-based approach to strengthening the parent-child bond

How R-TEP Helps with Trauma

The Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) is an advanced, research-based extension of EMDR therapy designed to treat recent or ongoing trauma before it becomes more deeply embedded.

R-TEP may be especially helpful for individuals who have experienced:

  • A difficult or traumatic birth

  • Pregnancy complications or medical scares

  • NICU stays or medical trauma related to an infant

  • Unexpected loss or crisis during the perinatal period

Unlike traditional talk therapy, R-TEP targets the neurobiological imprint of trauma—working directly with the brain and nervous system to reduce distress, reprocess painful experiences, and restore a sense of safety and emotional balance. It’s gentle, effective, and can be used early—before trauma solidifies into chronic symptoms like anxiety, panic, or PTSD.

For many of my clients, R-TEP provides meaningful relief when they’re still in the thick of it—and helps prevent long-term emotional fallout.

How ERP Helps with Perinatal OCD

Intrusive thoughts after childbirth—like fears of harming your baby —can feel terrifying and isolating. These thoughts are a common symptom of perinatal OCD and do not reflect who you are as a parent.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD. It helps you gradually face triggering thoughts or situations, while resisting the urge to avoid, check, or neutralize them.

ERP retrains the brain to respond with less fear and more confidence—helping you reconnect with yourself and your child. It’s safe, evidence-based, and always tailored to your comfort level
