Since about the age of ten I have wanted to be a psychologist; mainly due to natural curiosity about the human experience and partly because of family members/role models in the field of psychology. Fast forward to present day and I am incredibly passionate about therapy because I know, through professional and personal experiences, that therapy works. I resonate with Brene Brown’s quote, “Only when we're brave enough to explore our darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” I view therapy as  transformation through relationship - a safe haven where exploration, development and change can take place. Therapy can be utilized whether or not you are experiencing severe distress, have a curiosity about you and your world,  or are finding yourself unsatisfied with your current relationships, or circumstances.

I am also a mom trying to navigate motherhood, and am a true believer in the importance of surrounding yourself and your loved ones with a village of support, and connection. We are wired to relate and during the transition to parenthood, women and their loved ones have a high need for support especially if something unpredictable or scary/confusing occurs. Women, and their families (fathers, partners, loved ones) who are pregnant, transitioning to parenthood, post partum, experiencing a pregnancy loss, NICU parents, can greatly benefit from reaching out. I can provide therapy services and based on your own needs and comfort level, I can link you to resources in your area to build a community that is right for you. My approach to treatment is collaborative, and relational so we can tailor treatment to meet your unique needs, and at your own pace.

You have already taken the first step towards a more fulfilling and authentic life; if we are a good fit, let’s take the next step together.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

I have extensive clinical experience in treating the following mental health issues in children and adults: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss and existential crises/angst within an individual or group therapy context. I integrate many strands of knowledge (attachment research, neurobiology, cognitive science, developmental psychology, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness) in order to develop a treatment approach that uniquely addresses your needs.

I have worked in community mental health centers (Didi Hirsch Mental Health, Glenn Roberts Child and Family Center, Santa Anita Family Services) in outpatient, inpatient and school based settings. I also have previous experience working with young adults via college counseling at Occidental College, psychological testing for UCLA undergraduate students referred through the Athletics Department and teaching experience at University of the West.
